Most of the REH stories and portions
thereof come from Howard's original typescripts, manuscripts, and carbons,
when possible. Virtually all of the typescripts were scanned from the Glenn
Lord collection, now at the University of Texas, Austin; the Robert E.
Howard collection at Texas A&M University; or the typescript collection
at Cross Plains Library.
Other sources for texts herein include:
"The Man on the Ground" - from first publication in WEIRD
TALES, July 1933
"Old Garfield’s Heart" - from first publication
in WEIRD TALES, December 1933
"The Thunder Rider" is a combination of two separate drafts
to make a complete story.
"The Ghost of Camp Colorado" - from first
publication in THE TEXACO STAR, April 1931
"‘Golden Hope’ Christmas" - from a partial
draft along with text from the first publication in THE TATTLER, December
22, 1922
