"Candles" (poem)

Notes
Hand-press in green and black on cream.
Hand-press in red and black on cream.
An explanation for the two different color inks is unknown at this time.
A single sheet folded once to give a four page booklet of which the poem occupies one page.
Glenn Lord questions whether this is really an REH poem. The poem was apparently discovered by Michael Horvat in a book, in the Library of Amateur Journalism, claiming it was written down in a dedication in a book to or by Samuel Loveman, possibly in REH’s own hand, or at least ascribed to him.
This edition was printed by Charles Garvin (the printer) as a Christmas keepsake for himself, Glenn Lord, and John Melville. Apparently, only 8 copies and several proofs were printed with the Lord imprint. Altogether it appears that 53 copies were printed, plus at least seven untrimmed, undistributed copies, and several proofs of the poem only.
